New Plans for Wellness Center
Every semester, the Wellness center offers a wide range of physical activities for MSC students, staff, and faculty. Activities include basketball free play, volleyball tournament, intramural flag football, fitness classes, and so much more. The volleyball tournament ended November 21st and as the semester comes to a close, plans are underway for spring semester.
Beginning in January, the center plans on remaining open until 9pm. “This is a trial, based on a survey conducted on campus,” said Allison Kerr, Wellness program coordinator.
The center will be open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 9pm and will open 9am until 1pm on Fridays.
Also taking place next semester is the annual Burn and Earn incentive program. Burn and Earn is a 12-week program designed to motivate students to reach their fitness goals. Participants in the program earn points for activities and the more activities they earn, the more prizes they are eligible to win.
An additional bonus to the center is the cardio theatre. A flat screen television is available in the cardio room, so bring your headphones while exercising.
