A little information about how I got here...I come from a large family (3 sisters and no brothers)! I was born and raised in the city of Montreal, a large metropolitan city in Quebec, Canada. As a child, I have traveled extensively with my parents and sisters across Canada, the United States and Europe. In 1999, I graduated with a degree in Social Services and went on to work in social settings as a social counselor for 5 years. During my time working as a social counselor, I was asked to join a weekly gospel radio show in Montreal. I co-hosted CKUT 90.3 FM’s show, Mind, Soul & Spirit and went on to work as an assistant manager for a rising gospel choir called The R.O.C.K. This choir performed for the Queen Elizabeth II, special television programs, and attended the 2001 Summit of the Americas, where 37 heads of State were present. In 2003, I got married to my wonderful husband, Isaac and moved to Central Georgia. I attended Macon State College, earning degrees in Communication and Journalism. During my studies, I worked as a Publicist for Platinum Records in Atlanta, interned at the Telegraph and worked as the Editor-in-Chief for Macon State College’s newspaper, the Matrix. Pursuing a life-long writing hobby has been one of the most significant decisions I have ever made. Since 2003, I have been freelance writing for various publications and look forward to publishing some creative writing in the near future. Some of my hobbies include reading historical fiction, jogging, doing yoga and traveling. To learn more about Em Fergusson’s credentials, read here... |
